A good article about China and the region. China is willing to accept the Taliban, in spite of the fact that China worries about Xinjiang Muslims going to countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan to get military training. Perhaps a stable, but Taliban, Afghanistan stops people learning to be militants there.

China might want some of the resources there. But it's a neighbor and not having the US on its border is a positive for China too.

China wants the Lithium that the Taliban now controls. This might get interesting.

China have a tendency of allowing countries to do whatever they like, people like the Taliban like countries like China. And China gets something in return.

China don't accept anyone nor do they have to. In fact, their statement was they will not close their embassy and continue to work with the incoming government.

well. just. freakin'. awesome!

The Tollybon has turned over Bagram to the Chinese. Why thank you dementiaJoe. What a great thing you've done for the US. Right up there with turning over the panama canal to the chicoms... Iran to the islamists, afghanistan to the terrorists, 4 terrorists for Beau Bergdahl, VietNam to the Commies.....what an f'ing idiot.
