I'm not sure how you're defining a "trial run of freedom" since Israel has been the occupying power of Gaza and the West Bank since 1967.

On October 6, 2023 Israel controlled six of seven land borders with Gaza; nothing and no one got into that concentration camp with Israel's authorization (in theory).

Israel ruled completely over Gazan airspace, coastal waters, and population registry. Israel regulated the amount of food and water that entered Gaza. Israel built and guarded the fence that separated Gazans from land that Jews stole from them in 1948 and 1967.

If Israeli Jews ever had the slightest intention of living peaceably with Palestinians, they would have ended their illegal occupation and turned Israel from a Jewish-supremacist state into a democratic state for Jews and non-Jews alike.
