Trump’s shutdown excuse is as close as he’ll ever get to an accidental confession. The shutdown isn’t a Washington parlor game—it’s a national disaster, and voters know exactly who lit the fuse. His proposed “solution”—ending the Senate filibuster—only underscores how disconnected he is from reality.

Voters didn’t punish Republicans for failing to end the shutdown; they punished them for causing it, for gleefully smashing government and the public services that millions of Americans—especially rural conservatives—depend on.

Trump is toxic—more unpopular today than at any point during either of his two presidencies. His party still hasn’t been able to quit him, and now he’s dragging it straight into electoral ruin.

With these results, the GOP’s fate in 2026 seems clear. They can finally start to distance themselves from Trump and maybe earn a fighting chance in next year’s midterms—or they can stay the course and go down with the ship.

It lasted one term and 10 months. There is no scenario where any more MAGA victories take place, except the same red rural districts, where the same losers in the poorest counties continue voting to stay poor and stupid.

Democrats are that stupid?

(rhetorical question)

skews is there anything about your wonderful party that scares you?..
Yes, there is. They have for the last 40 years, been to timid and afraid to repeal all things Reaganomics, and trickledown, tax cut scams for the rich. Which needs to be pulled out, root and branch, and the earth salted behind it. All of that money returned to it's rightful owners. The American working class, and society returned to 1945-1980 societal norms, where the middleclass incomes grew at a faster rate than CEO incomes.

Thank you for asking.

but yet we never see you disagreeing on anything they do or say....these are the same people....

DailyKOS is so far to the left that even Karl Marx would say "**** that commie shit!"

All we need to do is eliminate every other major nation's manufacturing.

What a greedy **** you are thinking other people's money belongs to you via the government.

I disagree with them often. I will never forgive Bill Clinton for the Telecommunications act of 96. Or signing the repeal of the Glass Stegall act. Or putting himself in the position of allowing the biggest piece of shit of the 20th century, Newt Gingrich of forcing him to sign social safety net cuts that hurt millions of people.

But I digress.

The elections last night signaled something I've been waiting for, for 45 years. The end of AM talkradio, and Fox News influence on political messaging. They only come off now sounding like a bunch of ignorant gym bros, and out of touch billionaire ass kissers. I've been listening to it all day.

It's the only way they know how to talk, and it finally caught up with them. And it's going to continue hurting them for a while.

Their mouths are the best weapons Democrats have.

This has been the case for ten years. They don't care. They can't. They just operate as programmed.

Woa.... Dems using some Blue/Purple State lay-ups to begin a necromancy ritual.
Good luck with that.

no more shits.webp

America is over, bub. Dem or rep...it just does not matter. Our politicians and business leaders have disregarded the golden rule of survival. You don't shit where you eat.

15th post
One thing you can count on is the media defending democrats. A feeble old man with his trembling thumb on the nuclear button while unelected phantoms armed with an autopen ran the government wasn't considered poison to the left but Trump is? Proof that TDS is an actual mental illness.

A white male conservative media personality. lost to a Liberal Muslim woman in Virginia.

Chew on that for a while.
