What do American Cubans think about any kind of Trump’s economic ‘deal’ with the Bolshevik Cuban government?

ps Cuba has to be free again!

American Cubans will always be bitter since Castro shut down their brothels and casinos. There was more money in Cuba before Castro, but most of it was in the pockets of 3 or 4 dozen families.

And Castro made it worse. Communism is a failure. It’s time for a revolution or fundamental transformation of Cuba.

I don`t know if Cubans would be anxious to return to the days of Fulgencio Batista. To quote Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. "The corruption of the government, the brutality of the police, the government`s indifference to the people`s needs for education, healthcare, housing, social justice and economic justice...is an open invitation to revolution. an estimated 11,500 prostitutes worked in Havana alone. In the 50s Havana served as a hedonistic playground for the world`s elite, producing sizable gambling, prostitution and drug profits for the American mafia.

Talk about an absolute mindset: the Castro regime and legacy government is necessary or else Cuba returns to the Batista Corruption era.

How about a vision for what Cuba can be? How about evolution to catch up almost 70 years with the rest of the world.

That`s fine, but it will be up to the Cubans to do it.

"Cuba ranked fifth in the hemisphere in per capita income, third in life expectancy, second in per capita ownership of automobiles and telephones, first in the number of television sets per inhabitant. The literacy rate, 76%, was the fourth highest in Latin America. Cuba ranked 11th in the world in the number of doctors per capita. Many private clinics and hospitals provided services for the poor. Cuba's income distribution compared favorably with that of other Latin American societies. A thriving middle class held the promise of prosperity and social mobility."

I have family in Cuba. They cant get simple aspirin and band aids meat is rationed. The government is lawless and can take your property or even your home. Poverty is everywhere. If they were a democracy and had free trade with America they would be rich beyond their dreams. This is what Communism does to a country it kills it like cancer

🇷🇺 they hate Cuba

+1. Batista was not the best ruler, but that doesn’t mean the Moscow regime had any right to turn a beautiful island into a gulag, a stalinist ‑style, totalitarian pigsty

what do they say to you ? looks like 1991 is on the way

Energy shortages have a strange habit: they turn quiet streets into political pressure overnight.
When the lights go out for days, negotiations suddenly move very fast

Rum, sugar, Tobacco, and etc are pretty good In Cuba....however no cotton. (They need it)

They are in need of automobiles, boats, and just about everything modern including clothing.
Puerto Rico and Cuba have a LOT in common. Currently it's the government in charge...but criminal gangs also rule in Puerto Rico. In Cuba the criminal gangs have become the Government.

Sure they are without power....they haven't done anything to create infrastructure, collect taxes, or provide much of an economy. They can't afford anything. The oil from Venezuela was practically free for Cuba. But it gave them some power.

Puerto Rico 's economy survives solely upon USDA subsidies into island agricultural research....Cuba will not be much different. Rice, beans, cotton, are not great economic crops. Mining, including petroleum, are only temporary solutions. Not sufficient to create a huge difference. Tobacco and rum have gone out of favor. So....we'll see what happens.
