A simple plot based in the violent depression era 30's. The Hanks character is a hit man for the Irish organized crime and his flawed relationship with his family and his renewed relationship with his son is the basis of the story. It's well worth watching.

Saw it at the movies and was the last movie I went to a theater for…

Paul Newman was in it and Daniel Craig was in it along with Jude Law…

Very good movie…
 
Michael Sullivan Sr. is based on Dan Drost — a former Looney lieutenant who joined up with other gangsters after the 1922 Gabel murder. Crucially, he orchestrated the mob hit that ended with Connor Looney's death. In Road to Perdition, Stanley Tucci portrays real-life gangster Frank Nitti, who succeeded Capone as the head of "The Outfit" in 1932.

Seen it I believe 3 times.... right up there with Green Mile.
It is an interesting look into how life was back then as well.
