Hillary Clinton will almost certainly be the 2020 D nominee. If she does, she has a real path to winning. Just win FL and one of the lost rust best states from 2016 and she is home free. If some of these other Dem candidates leads the ticket, I could see Trump winning easily and taking the House back as part of wave.

If Trump brings it up...Biden can hit Trump with his 'groping's' by a factor of ten.

And Sanders won't get the nomination....likable/somewhat refreshing but too extremist.

All the Dem candidate has to do is look reasonably intelligent, sane (both things Trump cannot do) and stay off the socialism nonsense until after they get elected. I am quite sure Biden (if he gets the nod) knows that loud and clear.
And although he is kinda creepy, he actually has a personality (unlike Hillary) and can at least act likable (again, unlike Hillary).
Trump did not win in 2016. Clinton lost. She was a HORRIFIC candidate. You have to be either likable or respected. She was neither. She was smart but was almost totally unlikable and too corrupt to be respected. And still she won the popular vote by over 3 million.

And Biden will probably DESTROY Trump in the debates for the above reasons. Last time both the Dems and the other Rep nominees were surprised and taken aback by Trump's juvenile, attack style. Everyone has had 4 years of it and an old pro like Biden will know EXACTLY how to handle it.

Imo, if it's Biden - or someone like him (i.e. not socialism-pushing, experienced, reasonably intelligent) - and there is no war...the Dems have it in the bag.

My guess is after Bernie raises a shit tone of money for the DNC he will be required to fizzle our and get back in his closet with AOC until they either get rid of AOC’s district or primary her. Notice the two congressional haji’s have all but disappeared from the news? Anyway, when they are hushed up and put away the DNC will be reborn by the 2024 into a hawkish fiscally Conservative party in appearance until they get power again then it will be back to them organizing imperial rule.

Housing and employment numbers in the Blue Wall are getting much worse and faster than I assumed in the OP and the country is turning into a disaster for the Ds. A bigger one than I expected. It is quite likely that Romney, Weld et al will get horrified Ds to register R.
