The Right Needs to Stop Defending Boebert & MTG

Yep. Could happen. She's the party right now, all beneath the Big Guy.
Well, she's on the cusp. Notice that the party did not bow to her demands regarding the senators that voted for the spending bill. Clearly they aren't ready to go all in on stupid and cruel just yet.

We may know more after Nov 2022, if not sooner.
I am a little hopeful. There is going to be quite a backlash against the inevitable SCOTUS abortion decision. And MTG, being the mindless attention whore she is, will happily make herself the face of the target of that backlash. And the GOPers are going to see disturbing numbers against themselves. And some junior rep showing her ass and racking up votes against them may not sit well with them.

The people writing the checks want to bet on winners.

Stupid and cruel more typically describes when the government gets more involved in something or when it spends enough to spike inflation.

Roe v. Wade is destined to be overturned for 2 reasons. First, it's technologically dependent. Viability is a moving target that depends upon medical advances, so the window continually narrows.

Second, like the right to privacy overall, it does not have a concrete statute among the Amendments. The right to privacy fits the spirit of the Constitution, but without a specific Amendment to substantiate it, it's a weak argument legally.

Right, like education, healthcare, infrastructure...oooookay
Public education is a mess in a lot of the country, and it's not for lack of spending. It's due to poor management and poor teaching.

Public healthcare works well in certain countries, but the VA system here is a nightmare for patients, while Medicare is a nightmare for many healthcare providers to work with.

Public infrastructure in this country varies widely in quality. The Interstate Highway System is generally good, but a lot of public transit systems are garbage.

That's not likely to remain the case for much longer. Plenty of successful deliveries have happened at 22 weeks, for example.
Yes,it will, because mich of the support for that number has to do with the properties of the fetus, like brain activity, feeling pain, etc. No amount of technology will change that.

But viability is only partially related to those things, and viability is the stated argument of the ruling. Ironically, fetal development actually has more to do with most laws that limit abortion.

Hint: That doesn't disprove my claim that leftists are childish. In fact, your pouting and whining supports it.

Public healthcare works well in certain countries,

ever see the FRONTLINE documentary - ' sick around the world' ? ( you could still find it on youtube) it's several years old now, coming out when the ACA was just a pipedream; but i'll bet the opinions haven't changed much. it was an examination of 5 different nations' healthcare systems; ( japan, UK, germany, switzerland, & US ) & although there were problems with each of them - NOT ONE citizen or doctor said they would switch their system for the US's.

but the VA system here is a nightmare for patients, while Medicare is a nightmare for many healthcare providers to work with.

my husband has gone thru the VA & has nothing but praise for it. he hasn't had to wait for appointments, to see specialists, & it's streamlined. & medicare isn't for profit, it doesn't pay like bighealthcorp - so drs aren't incentivized to accept it. perhaps if the CEOs & board of directers of bighealthcorp didn't pocket millions upon millions in yearly salaries, & aim to please their stockholders as well ... that would change. how many seniors are willing to give up their medicare once they have it? i'm willing to bet they are just like people who were scared the ACA was going to vanish, had the (R)s actually got their way.

public transportation is antiquated - no substantial infrastructure bill/cash has been passed since when? eisenhower?

that finally changed & hopefully the US will finally start to catch up with other industrialized nations.
