The Reflecting Pool repairs are COMPLETE, taking 1/10th the time and 1/20th the INITIAL cost estimates to complete the work.

What did we learn, in this amazingly stupid thread? We learned $13.8 billion is one tenth of $1.7 billion.

He spent his time and energy as Commander in Chief rigging up a no bid contract to his pool guy.

I have no idea where you cribbed these claims from, but I doubt that any of them are remotely true.

/—-/ Trump should have squandered four times as much and accomplished nothing, like Obozo. And not a peep of protest out of your pie hole.

If I spent $13B on a pool that was dirty, I'd want it to be cleaned afterword.

Apparently blob supporting dumbfux love algae in their pool.

Wasn't the blob supposed to drain the swamp...not fund it?

/—-/ No. What we learned is…
you’re a dumbass
you’re a dumbass
and you’ll be one all your dumbass life.

For historical perspective, the Obama administration "attempted" to just fix the leaks and structural issues in the Reflecting Pool and FAILED. And oh BTW they spent $34 million dollars to accomplish NOTHING. The estimates President Trump received to complete Reflecting Pool repairs and restoration were $355 million and over 3 years. He got it done for under $30 million dollars and under 3 months!

Democrats are furious their latest taxpayer fleece scam was thwarted. As we know by now, if the gubmint says $355 million and $3 years it will be $1 billion dollars and 5 years in the end. It's great to have a President who defends taxpayer dollars the same way he defends our borders.

:oops8:

/-----/ I surrender nothing. You're just beating a dead horse.
Earlier this week you were passing off the algae as a normal thing that has beguiled presidents for generations. When I pointed out that your blob said he would get rid of it and didn’t do it, you did what you always do when you’ve lost the debate...went right to the personal attack repeating the word “dumbass” time and again. So yeah...you did surrender.

/----/ Listen, numnuts. The algae is a normal thing because the feeder pipe wasn't flushed of contaminated water. And neither of us knows what is going on between the White House and the contractor.
The contractor screwed up.
Now do you understand why Trump had situations where he didn't pay contractors who screwed up their work?

/-----/ Do you libs approve of vandalism of the Reflecting Pool now under guard?

No.

Do you enjoy being lied to? Do you enjoy the waste? Do you enjoy the corruption of hand picking a contractor who screwed up?

And neither of us knows what is going on between the White House and the contractor.
The contractor screwed up.
Yes. This is why there is a bidding process using approved contractors.... Government 101. Your “bull in the china shop” fukked up again. But you can’t bring yourself to admitting that...can you numb nuts?

To candycorn and all the other Trump Haters who are currently obsessing over the Reflecting Pool issues. The repairs are UNDER WARRANTY and the contractors will fix the issues. And the total cost will still be less than the $34 MILLIOIN DOLLARS that Obama pissed away doing absolutely nothing. I grew up around Washington DC and that Reflecting Pool has been a leaking, garbage filled mess since I was a kid. Time to move on to the next fake crisis.

/----/ Bidding contracts can't prevent vandalism by democRATs. But I'm sure you already have some kind of excuse for this.

The president said the damaged area would be fixed early next week as law enforcement investigates the incident

"However, we’ve had some real problems with Vandalism at the beautiful Reflecting Pool, which sits between The Washington Monument and The Lincoln Memorial," he continued.

"Just like three days ago, they destroyed the grass outside of the Pool, they’ve also done everything possible to hurt the inside surface that was just installed."

Trump accused vandals of damaging the grounds surrounding the reflecting pool and said they used chemicals to damage the pool's newly installed surface.

"No different than the chemicals that were used on the National Mall, they used something similar in the Reflecting Pool to try to destroy and demean our beautiful work," he said.

What is she talking about, some sort of pool? :p

The 34 million accomplished exactly what it was intended for. Obamas beach house and election campaign.

What it succeeded at

The 2010–2012 reconstruction addressed major structural problems that had developed over nearly 90 years:

  • The pool had sunk into unstable soil.
  • It was leaking significant amounts of water.
  • The original infrastructure was deteriorating.
  • New foundations, pumps, circulation, and filtration systems were installed.
  • The pool was rebuilt and stabilized.
From an engineering standpoint, many of the underlying structural issues were corrected. The pool is still in service today, which suggests the reconstruction was not a total failure.

What it failed to accomplish

The project did not permanently solve two of the public's most visible complaints:

  • Algae blooms returned within weeks of reopening.
  • Leakage and water-quality problems continued to require maintenance and repairs.
Some reporting has noted that portions of the plumbing system were not fully replaced during the reconstruction, leaving ongoing circulation and maintenance challenges.

Bottom line

If the goal was "rebuild and stabilize a failing 1920s-era structure," the project was largely successful.

If the goal was "permanently eliminate leaks, algae, and maintenance problems," it was not successful. Those issues continued after the reconstruction and have remained a challenge through multiple administrations.

So historians and engineers would generally describe it as a mixed result rather than either a clear success or a clear failure. The structure was rebuilt and preserved, but the long-term water-quality and maintenance issues were never fully solved.

Another successful project for President Trump.
Can we get an update?
Is the paint peeling, or is that Fake News? or Sabotage? LOLLOLOOLL
