I'm afraid I can. I've been watching the news turn into 'editorials' for at least 15 years now, I'm sure others noted it before I did.

My guess is that the photo doctoring is the easiest for the public to grasp, which is basically the result of less than stellar photoshopping and bad editors. I'm sure the talents of the former will improve, giving the editors an exuse.
