I Have to disagree with you here. There is no job so demanding as the presidency. Americans expect their president to be equal pars CEO, diplomat-in-chief, commander of the armed forces, party leader, and motivational figure. What wears on a president is not the physical or mental activity but the stress.My reality of the potus is that it simply isn't as difficult as it's made out to be.
Ex-presidencies say that presidential decisions always have consequences and you have to live with them. Obama said "In one day I had to deny funds that would mean hundreds of children would probably die of starvation or deploy over a thousand US troops to an Africa country. I agreed to republican legislation that violated an election promise in order get support for what I considered to be more important legislation. I refused to consider a pardon for a death row inmate. Later in the day, I cancelled an anniversary dinner with the wife to attend an emergency meeting with the joint chiefs of staff. And this was not an unusually" day.
