Never once did I believe myself an artist while while watching this guys show, but it was a true pleasure, almost a luxury to spend 30 minutes watching this guy cobble together a painting during one of his hundreds of half hour shows on
NPR.

We're not going to bury the lead here: Bob Ross' hair was actually straight. Just ask his longtime business partner Annette Kowalski, who knew Ross better than anyone — he had just gotten out of the Air Force, and was unsuccessfully trying to make a living as a painter, she says.

The Boondocks had a really good and really funny tribute episode to Bob Ross. In it he teaches Riley, who's a little punk ass kid that never listens to anybody, discipline through art. Of course, being The Boondocks, it gets pretty ridiculous by the end:
