I don't usually enjoy Brit made movies but this one, based on a true story, was remarkable and well done. A British Officer, Eric Lomax, captured at Singapore in WW2 was tortured by the Japanese. In his middle age he still can't shake off the horrors he went through and it affects his personal relationships especially his wife. When he finds out that his torturer is still alive he decides to leave England and deal with the nightmares.

Maybe Brits only have one actor on the payroll but Colin Firth seems to fill the bill every time.

I guess Firth didn't get the "Sir" memo. Brit Knighthood that was once awarded for courage in battle seems to be restricted these days to rock stars and homosexual piano players like Sir Elton John..
