Where the wild things are
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said Tuesday that Palestinians would not recognize Israel, despite the siege on Gaza and two wars.

"We had two wars in which hundreds of people died, and thousands of acres of land were destroyed, but Palestinians did not and will not recognize Israel," the Gaza premier said as he welcomed international activists to the enclave.

This is nothing new unfortunately, and the Palestinian Authority also say that in Arabic although not in English.

We all know he doesn't represent all Palestinians but if you want to pretend he does, go for it. He's merely a politician and all Palestinians aren't Hamas.

Yeah, but tens of thousands of Palestinians VOTED Hamas.

And they DO take what he says seriously and believe him.

It have been proven many times.

and tens of thousands voted against him. Why do you have a problem with the WHOLE truth ?

Do those who voted anything else accept Israel's right to exist?

Do we hear any other voices saying otherwise?

(For the record, liar Abu-Mazen doesn't count)

The option was Fatah. Fatah rolls out the red carpet for Israel's incursions and pockets the Palestinian's money.

Remember, Arafat got rich by selling hes people down the river.

When Haniyeh talks about "Palestine" he talks about Tel-Aviv.

Why do the Palestinians have right for a state but we don't?

Is that fair?

Should the Palestinians have the right to have a state in Palestine?

Should Israel have the right to have a state in Palestine?

Have you noticed how (rich?) extremists among Arab and Jew alike invoke (the same?) "God" to sanctify their bigotry and greed?

"Haniyeh said aid groups who visited Gaza in solidarity had a political and a humanitarian message, showing that Gaza did not stand alone.

"These groups, along with the help of God and the Palestinian steadfastness, eased the siege," he added.

"The Hamas leader highlighted his government's efforts to generate support for Jerusalem.

"'The (Israeli) occupation built a hundred synagogues around al-Aqsa to deceive the world and falsify facts,' he added."

Is the bolded claim directly above accurate, in your opinion?

Yes, there are many synagogues in Jerusalem, and they probably do number in the hundreds. Jerusalem has a special feeling about it, that no Youtube can capture. Its essence is best expressed by the Don McLean song "Jerusalem". There are also hostels to accomodate people with little money. I hope that all of you get there someday.

There are Jewish extremists in Israel and abroad who will NEVER recognize a Palestinian state in the West Bank.

Both sides have their extremists.

Should the Palestinians have the right to have a state in Palestine?

The second question is irrelevant in case of peace talks.

And peace talks won't be a possibility if they don't recognize Israel's right of self definition, when they demand one themselves.

True.

Different is, those extremists lost the last votes (party of "strength for Israel" didn't win votes enough to enter the government), and Hamas are the main party in the Palestinian community.

See where I'm coming from?

That will be like Netanyahu saying the Palestinians don't have any rights whatsoever. not on paper of in field.

Imagine what the world will say if Netanyahu comes out with such expressions.

So why not when it's the Hamas PM?

Interesting. The song mentions Muslims, Christians, and Jews but does not mention Israel.

What is really happening in Jerusalem?

Al Aqsa was built over the ruins of the holiest place of Judaism.

On the ruins of the Temple.

If anything is a "foreign root", it's not our places of prayers.

More fake peace talks are irrelevant.

The pre condition of all peace talks is that the Palestinians surrender to Israel. Why should it be that the Palestinians must surrender in their own country?

Yeah...and?

What are we Americans supposed to feel about that, exactly?

Surprised?

Offended?

Angry?
