It is now believed that this concept comes from the right side of the French parliament during the revolution, but this is an obvious lie. This is clear from the etymology of this word. For example, the word "Reiter"(knight) contains this root, and this concept is just close to what it was under the rule of the knightly military aristocracy.
This root as a whole has always meant the correct order, therefore the word itself also means correct.
This root is apparently preserved in all Indo-European languages, and it goes back to the ancient Aryan concept of rta, which meant a certain uncreated original cosmic order. This concept already existed in the Bronze Age.
In fact, this is apparently close to what constituted the kshatriya codex, and close to what is now understood by the concept of the power of the military aristocracy.
