Perhaps Bidenās insouciant attitude toward the Chinese government has to do with the fact that his family does not consider them competitors but business partners.

If it sounds shocking that a vice president would shape US-China policy as his son ā who has scant experience in private equity ā clinched a coveted billion-dollar deal with an arm of the Chinese government, thatās because it is.
Nothing I've seen suggests Biden is anywhere near as warm to China as Trump was in his first two years as president. Trump only turned against China when he realized he needed and enemy to get reelected.
