That's not based on politics....that's an interesting take on AI.

1. A Chinese scholar predicts the end of capitalism, and instead, exactly what Marx predicted: world wide socialism. Here's is his analysis: AI will result in nearly all work done by machinery, robotics and AI. Society would not allow it to be in the hands of the rich (the Democrats, the party of the rich) and government would control and own it and need to take care of all those who no longer had jobs.

2. "The more AI advances into a general-purpose technology that permeates every corner of life, the less sense it makes to allow it to remain in private hands that serve the interests of the few instead of the many. More than anything else, the inevitability of mass unemployment and the demand for universal welfare will drive the idea of socializing or nationalizing AI."

3. "But when industry only produces joblessness, as robots take over more and more, there is no good alternative but for the state to step in. As AI invades economic and social life, all private law-related issues will soon become public ones. More and more, regulation of private companies will become a necessity to maintain some semblance of stability in societies roiled by constant innovation."

4. "The dream of communism is the elimination of wage labor. If AI is bound to serve society instead of private capitalists, it promises to do so by freeing an overwhelming majority from such drudgery while creating wealth to sustain all."

5. Marx’s dictum, “From each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs,” needs an update for the 21st century: “From the inability of an AI economy to provide jobs and a living wage for all, to each according to their needs.”

AI and Robotics will make lives much easier.

And it will lead to a very doable UBI.

Whether that will have the outcome that would be good is altogether another matter.

I'm all in just so long as I can buy all the candy bars and Coke I want! :dunno:
I wonder about the mental stabilty of sort of nations, world, where folks live like the Russians under Stalin where one doesn't have to strive, or have their work rewarded as under capitalism.

But you do see the problem if AI and robotics reduce the need for workers.
They have said that ever since we had industrialization.

It assumes work is finite and there is only so much that can be done. In fact, it is endless

I look at AI exploring space and fighting our battles so that soldiers do not have to die
AI and AI guided robotics will no doubt replace a big percentage of low skill jobs as well as dangerous environment jobs. There will be an expansion of the welfare state. I think it is inevitable.

It would turn into a global Fascism State. Humans are not perfect, and humans created A.I. so A.I will be flawed as well.
I agree with U. Humanity has a really pizz poor track record when it comes down to "getting it right" clear back to the Akkadian Empire. With the current state of the human condition(human nature) one can bet the farm corruption would enter the scene followed by a fiasco(s). According to the 2 links below 1 out of 5 people in our America have mental issues of one sorts or another, meaning we got a 1 out of 5 chance of landing a demented power & control(PC) NPD positive lunatic programmer that wants our planet earth to look like our sun.

I envision a culture very much like the antebellum South but where everyone lives like a plantation owner and AI takes the place of slaves. I don't see the end of capitalism, that is still the most efficient model, but we will have niceties like universal health care, housing, and education, and a guaranteed minimum wage.

Very utopian but man has always wanted wealth and power that come at the expense of others so we'll likely find new things to fight about and new forms of misery. In short, we'll be materially better off but still petty, vindictive, and jealous of others, so nothing will really change until AI takes over running things.
