Fans want instant gratification and don’t appreciate nuance, tactics and especially defense

I think it has more to do with the thug mentality on display, and the lack of respect for America.
They trash America while propping up China. Or as Trump calls them "CHI-NAH".
Nah......nobody wants to pay to see a bunch of guys that would be shoplifting stores or beating up old ladies for their pizzas if they couldn't play basketball.
But in this case....the product has been turned political.
The left politicizes everything.
When they started taking a knee.....they lost a large portion of their fans.

I quit them in ~2000 over referees caught fixing games. LA @ SAC for certain, I was there. Then LA again in the 2010s? Last game of year given to LA to make playoffs (in an otherwise meaningless season finale).
Now, I turn them all on. I try to small time gamble on them. Sportsbook gambling. It is fun to me. I look for loopholes betting points mostly. You can bet each Quarter if you choose. “Instant” rush or crushing loss. Not much else going on.
If a team has a lot of stupid players…..maybe bet against. Weaker coach?

The leagues and the players had a lot of say over the years. All of the All-Star Games suck. Major League baseball had the best of the bunch at least when I was a kid. Everything is overhyped. We actually expect total greatness and when it does not appear we get down on players quickly. Sports talk shows seem to spend 95% and more on Football and basketball. And women's basketball may get more than hockey and baseball. People must have the money because they are in the stands for most teams.

We have to sit an watch the NHL ... and that's not how Americans watch TV ... we're up and about tinkering here and there ... between football plays and baseball pitches ... we're drinking, we're visiting, we're arguing ... we're not glued to the tube ...
Basketball tends to be continuous action, and hockey is the same and much faster ... they have to insert "Television Time-outs" during the games just to pay the electric bill ...
If we go to the game ... we're in an ice rink, in a seat, and very much a "captive" audience ... we're stuck so watching fast-paced back-and-forth action with great plays happening every few seconds ... it's great entertainment ...
Police Squad is a great example of this ... the television series flopped, and flopped badly ... whereas the movies were all blockbusters ... even though it was all the exact same material ... the comedy only works if we sit there and watch, and that's not how we watch television in our own homes ... in the movie theater, we're "captive" and have to watch ...

I suppose many see the “new game” allowing traveling, charging, steps, carrying, palming, pivot foot moving, slipping, charging, flopping, referee reviews, pushing in the back or chest as acceptable has turned them off along with the kneeling, racism and BLM BS we had forced onto us by the criminal Deep statist and dirty media since 08’

The Golden State Warriors have had a lot of success.......and part of it is because their coach seems to have a very big mouth in support of leftist causes. Anti-Trump statements are rewarded with refs conveniently looking the other way on foul calls, or calling them when they're needed the most in tight games.
At any rate. One hand washes the other. The Champs always seem to hate Trump. If they don't make it obvious....it might ruin their chances in the playoffs.

I'm using "fan" here as short for fanatic ... and that is a mental health issue ...

2025 Playoff G1 vs NY, BOS shot 60 threes. G2 40 threes. Lost both games late or in OT.

The passing around the 3pt line makes the defense chase. Some teams really whip it around there. Makes me dizzy.
Basketball is better watching in person.

Not in the football stadiums it ain't 1/2 mile up & away. Maybe lower deck with rich Stain elbow to elbow at the Garden.
