The Republican Party made the assessment that the situation in Illinois 3 was hopeless and there was no point in investing money in a losing effort. If I was a donor to the Illinois GOP I wouldn't want them to throw money away on a pointless effort.

No one knows the political affiliation of the 56,000 people who voted for the nazi.

There are a lot of "hopeless" districts in IL, but the GOP still managed to find credible, non-Nazi candidates to run in them.

And there would be more if individuals didn't put their own names at their own expense forward as the sole candidate for office in other districts.
