Based on the argument presented in these videos titled "myths" in the National Popular Vote website, the USA would in fact be LESS FREE than what the USA currently is.
Being as Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton did not receive the popular vote, if we had a popular vote system, Slavery would have continued to be the law of the land until such time as an Anti-Slavery president received the popular vote.
And NEVER in American history, has ANYONE'S civil rights to be free EVER been upheld in elections, or by ANY elected officials who got elected, AND won the popular vote.
And as strong of an opposition to Anti-Slavery and Pro-Civil rights movements that the South is notorious for, Slavery might STILL not be abolished even to this day, nor would people have civil rights.
We're not talking about balancing the power between Democrats and Republicans.
When we're talking about people in the USA, the United States of Scum, of fucking SLIME, Assholes...
We're talking about balancing the power between just barely OKAY, and SLIME.
This is the results of putting people's civil rights up for a vote in the USA by POPULAR VOTE.
(California is the most liberal state in America due to heavily liberal influences that no other state has directly)
Proposition 8, State of California, to put into the state's constitution that marriage is between one man, and one woman, thereby putting sex discrimination, and sexual orientation discrimination, as well as gender identity discrimination into the constitution.
WINNER.
(and this was the second such proposition to be a winner, in the state of California)
Proposition 21, State of California, to increase the number of crimes that a JUVENILE can commit, and as result of committing those crimes, they are to placed into the adult system, face trial in adult court, and face adult penalties, and sometimes be penalized in adult correctional institutions.
WINNER.
Proposition 19, to Regulate, Control and Tax cannabis (marijuana).
LOSER.
So the record is absolutely crystal clear.
Popular (only) vote, supports and enfranchises oppressors (in America).
