‘The Nation’ Withdraws Endorsement of Kamala Harris

Bezos made a business decision. Trump is threatening to go after anyone and everyone that supported Harris in any way.
As well he should, all are enemies of the Republic.

I look forward to the dems finding out that the lawfare sword has two edges.

The Palm Beach Post:

Opinion:

Last Call, Conservatives: Vote For Harris Over Trump. Here's Why.

Maybe you’re leaning toward plugging your nose and voting for Trump.

You like tax cuts and hate inflation, illegal immigrants, real and looming wars, self-righteous “wokeism,” and deficits. Maybe you own a small business, hate red tape, and figure $1.84 gas with mean tweets was a fair Trump trade.

If so, you’ve come to the right party. Just kindly read to the end.

Say Trump wins. He might get a Republican Senate and House. That’s a trifecta with executive, legislative, and judicial, tied up in a nice red MAGA bow, courtesy of the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling granting broad presidential immunity.

What is going on? I think the Mainstream Media is trying to separate themselves from the failure that is the Kamala campaign.
They likely know what the Democrats' internal polling looks like.
Uh oh, I know one left wing radio host who will not be happy.

He usually has John Nichols on as a guest…

Sounds like the inmates are running the asylum. Interns have to power to withdraw an endorsement, REALLY? The world is truly going to hell.

.

Lol, nope. A group of interns got their editorial published. The endorsement remains.
Anyone with sense condemns Kamala who has fueled the genocide in Gaza.

These interns oppose the Cheney-Harris alliance.

These interns have principles. Why don’t you?

Newspapers: No Endorsement Is Absolutely An Endorsement

By not endorsing a candidate, the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times have chosen Donald Trump.

So you admit that The Nation's Endorsement of Kamala Harris stands, good.

The Nation Endorses Kamala Harris.

The presidency is her powerful grasp of what is at stake in this election. “In many ways, Donald Trump is an unserious man,” Harris declared in her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. But as she reminded the delegates, “the consequences of putting Donald Trump back in the White House are extremely serious.”

The great strength of Kamala Harris’s unlikely but existentially important campaign for the presidency is her powerful grasp of what is at stake in this election. “In many ways, Donald Trump is an unserious man,” Harris declared in her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. But as she reminded the delegates, “the consequences of putting Donald Trump back in the White House are extremely serious.”

Warning of the danger to democracy posed by a reelected “Donald Trump with no guardrails”—especially after the Supreme Court’s recent 6–3 decision granting him “presumptive immunity” from criminal prosecution for his official acts—Harris urged Americans to “consider what he intends to do if we give him power again. Consider his explicit intent to set free violent extremists who assaulted those law enforcement officers at the Capitol. His explicit intent to jail journalists, political opponents, and anyone he sees as the enemy. His explicit intent to deploy our active-duty military against our own citizens.”

We believe those threats are real. Of course we endorse Harris over Trump. But we also endorse Harris in her own right, as an experienced and capable leader with a vision for America’s future that—while not as progressive as we might prefer, particularly when it comes to foreign policy—represents a clear advance on the Democratic presidential nominees of the past half-century. In her selection of a progressive governor, Minnesota’s Tim Walz, Harris also demonstrates an awareness of the need not merely to build on the many successes of the Biden-Harris administration but to go farther in the pursuit of economic, social, and racial justice—and the preservation of our planet.

The Nation stands by it's endorsement. The interns got their opinion published, which is good. Dissenting opinions are welcome in our democracy. Under Diaper Don, dissent would be crushed.

The interns wrote: “to champion Harris at this moment is to ignore the atrocities that are being carried out with weapons supplied by the Biden-Harris administration.”

Why do you support atrocities?

When did you lose your principles?

You won’t answer my questions because you can’t.

Did you actually read the article?

This was a Op Ed written by the INTERNS who work at the Nation, not the magazine itself.

I don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

No matter who is president, the US will continue to blindly support Israel, and Israel will continue their racist, genocidal policies towards the Palestinians.

So realizing there's not much that can be done about an issue that has no effect on my life, I look at the things that do effect my life.

Trump will fuck things up. Because he fucked things up last time he was in, and this time there are no guardrails.

Harris will not.

How can you be indifferent to the mass murder of children in Gaza?

Why would you vote for a candidate who supports “racist, genocidal policies towards the Palestinians.”

It only makes sense for you to vote third party.

No, I actually want my vote to count.

Pissing away my vote on a third party over an issue that doesn't really effect my life would be foolish.

People are going to die all over the world today because of war, famine, disease, lack of clean water. It's sad, but I'd be neurotic if I let it ruin my day.

I really wish that were true. I’m sad that it probably isn’t.

But, we can dream.
