In modern times, it is not the 3rd party attempts of a Nader, a Perot, a Paul or even a Sanders.......the "new" party will be called the Trump Populist Party (TPP) and it spells the virtual doom of the once Grand Ol' Party..
I know there is some evidence that some "blue-collared" democrats have jumped on the Trump express, but the vast, vast majority of Trump voters and acolytes are embittered and disillusioned, right wing republicans....and without this "base" support, the GOP is in serious trouble.
The above, couple with the changing demographics of minority voters who tend to mostly side with democrat policies, will make it very unlikely for a republican to sit in the oval office for decades to come.
