The "most fun" team in college football 2025, the Mean Green

With 12 playoff spots, the theory was that the non Power 4or5 Conference highest ranked team or two would get a shot. This year, that's North Texas Mean Green, and they are fun to watch. They have a true Fresh QB who is lighting it up, an extremely good OL for non Power 4or5 team, good offensive skill talent, and well, they don't have a lot of NFL talent on D, and that creates a lot of high scoring games.

WHO are the two most famous alumni of University of North Texas?

MEAN Joe Greene, who got that name because that's where he played college

Well deserved limelight. I looked in on them. They beat Army, Navy, UAB, WSU. Only loss to USF when they gave up 63!

6 of their wins over 50 points.

You'd think all these teams looking for coaches might check him out? Hate to see them go from every smaller school. He's in D1 now.

Are they in the playoffs yet? Or do we have to take 2-3 loss SEC teams because the media says so?

The playoff stuff is out of control. Nobody is safe except the top 7 or so. Bama, OU, they'd be out if they lose (Auburn, LSU) this weekend. Even if Vandy beats TN, Vandy likely needs help. The "2 loss Power 5" teams are many. Michigan is at 15 or so, but if they beat Ohio State, they're in, and they might boot Vandy out. We'll see if James Madison or Mean Green end up with only 1 loss after conference championship wins, because the 12 team playoff is always supposed to reach for one or two of those, just to make sure. One thing is for certain, 3 losses = you're OUT OUT OUT.

I think it would help if Conference Championship games were "elimination games" aka both the conference championship and part of CFP. Lose your conference championship and you're out.

Coaches both leaving. Did not seem to hurt Tulane. Memphis looked better than both at their best. None would beat OSU or even a Vanderbilt.

Their main star RB suffered a stinger early. That took away their ground game. They foolishly put him back in after a dose of pain killers, he took a shot on that shoulder and fumbled. Football being dumb about injuries...
