How...ironic. You totally misunderstand the nature of conspiracy theories and the debunking thereof. This is why I so frequently beg you rubes to take a course in Logic.

For example, let's say you claim the deep state deliberately aims hurricanes at red states. MTG has actually made this claim recently.

Then I come along and label that a conspiracy theory and provide the reasons the conspiracy theory is untrue, that is not an ad hominem.

An ad hominem is along the lines of dismissing a claim by attacking the character of the claimaint rather than the claim itself. If I debunk the actual claim itself, that's not an ad hominem.



When I thoroughly debunk that conspiracy theory by pointing out the red states which get hit by hurricanes are in the southeast which has been hit by hurricanes for millennia, that is not a red herring. I am not distracting from the conspiracy theory. I am destroying it with obvious facts which did not occur to the idiot who hatched the theory or the idiots who parrot it.

When a conspiracy theory is destroyed with facts and logic, that is not poisoning the well.
