Anything that is done is what is affordable. We do not have the percentage of people as we had in the past who would spend a lot of time taking care of their own relatives if needed as an example. So that leads to independence. And that costs a lot as we all age. So, what you typed over a half a century ago in cities with higher Catholic populations, people gave to the church what they could afford and sent their kids to catholic schools and were charged for it also. In those cities half the kids getting education may have gone to parochial schools instead of public schools. And it saved the cities and states massive money in taxes.
