I think Speedy saved some coffee for you.

gosh I hope so...I get up to a mess in the house. Our dog is getting old and incontinent. My husband wants me to have her put to sleep. Our cat died 2 weeks ago, on the way to the vet to have her put to sleep. She was 20. Our dog is 19, I'm not ready to lose another pet yet.

Sorry about you cat. And about your dog. Those are such difficult decisions to make. If your dog is not in pain and still enjoying life, I hope you can keep him a while longer.
19 is amazing! Is he/she a mutt? Large or small?

She's a pound puppy. Half german shepard, half sheep, if you saw her, you'd know what I mean. She's medium sized and she's been a very good pet but lately she is incontinent and there are times she has trouble standing. One day I'll think it's time, and the next day, she has energy again. It's a difficult decision and I don't really want to make it.

I think you'll know when it's the right time. She sounds like a sweet old pup, an old friend. It's so hard the longer you have them, to say goodbye to them. I wish you the best in getting through this time. I've been there and will be heading there again in a few years.

Not sure if that worked for the cat...when I finally decided it was time for her, she died in my arms on the way to the vet. She spent 3 days within a 3 foot area on our kitchen floor. I keep telling my husband that a kitten will make me feel better, but he doesn't want anymore animals. I figure, wait a few months and have someone let loose a mouse in the house. That was the excuse I used for getting our cat in the first place, we had mouse turds on the breadboard.

Just slightly melt some chocolate covered raisins and scatter them in a corner of the kitchen.

Have a good weekend. same thread same time?
