I don't think Singh intended to kill anybody, but ignorance of the law is not excuse for negligent homicide. If the wasn't in the country illegally, those three people would still be alive.

In truth I have no problem with him serving some jail time--I think the usual sentence for negligent homicide is 1 to 3 years or so. He could be out on parole in a few months and then should be immediately deported with no right of return for any reason ever.

Meanwhile whoever issued him that commercial license should go to prison for a long long time.

I don’t care who signs the petition, it is irrelevant, the driver is not proficient in English as required by the FMCSA, the driver made an illegal u turn. The driver by his disobeying the law caused the death of three people. The trucking company needs to be investigated for hiring a person that should not of possessed a CDL to operate their vehicle. Also investigate the trucking school that trained him and the state of California for issuing a CDL to a person not proficient in English.

I hope the surviving members of the deceased sue the driver, the trucking company, the trucking school and the state of California for negligence.
