Personal opinion: they're probably pretty good people, but nobody should be able to interfere with any LEO's official duties with impunity. Since they did not threaten or physically harm or attempt to physically harm the officers, I don't think maximum sentences are warranted. But certainly some reasonable jail time is warranted and necessary as an example to others to not engage in that kind of interference.

Until we start enforcing the law, the LEO's will not get the respect or compliance they need to keep law and order.
