The Catholic Church doctrine acknowledges every country's right to protect their borders. Pope Francis' criticism of Trump, in my opinion, is misguided. Refugees and immigrants are welcome in the US, but must come the legal way. I am all for easing some of the immigration rules, however. As of 2012 under 0bama, people trying to emigrate from Eastern European countries had to wait 17 years. “‘Build bridges, not walls’ was an exhortation [Francis] repeated many times,” was included in the homily.
Pope Francis criticized those who build walls and not bridges are not Christian. Pope Francis said this in direct response to Trump's criticism of the Pope being political.
Our President is called out in the homily and he was the only world leader to not wear a black suit.
Trump embarrasses the USA on the world stage once again. But MAGA think he is great. They are an embarrassment.

The Church's core mission is to spread the Word on the Risen Christ. Central to Catholic beliefs is that Christ conquered SIN and that TRUE REPENTANCE is needed to be forgiven. Only God forgives so even if we might be tempted to make judgements about others it is HIS and only His to do. Frankly you can't fool God even though we can fool neighbors, priests and even ourselves. I know the media made some big deals about what Pope Francis said BUT I never accept what they say on face value. ALWAYS let it be understood that Pope Francis had basically two mottos; JUDGE not (I agree with that) and TRUE REPENTANCE is recognised by God alone; go and SIN NO MORE is the Command of Christ Himself!!

Both Prince William and Donald Trump were called out for wearing a blue suit.
Wearing black is showing respect for Francis. All the world leades did, except Trump and Prince William.
Delegations in attendance kept to the respectful sartorial codes for funerals: black suits, funeral veils, pearls. Trump, however, wore a deep navy suit, white shirt, and navy tie
You can make all the excuses you want; Trump disrespects everyone except himself. I guarantee he does not respect you.

The homily included Pope Francis's opinion, not yours or mine.
I would find it embarrassing, if the leader of the Catholic churche's opinion of me,, was called out at their funeral, and the opinion was not good.
I feel Pope Francis's opinion of Trump is closer to God's opinion than yours or mine.
