Well technically he is just threatening to withhold the pay of school board members and superintendents who enact policies that violate state law, not punish the entire school systems. Florida is a home rule state except for taxation so I am not sure he really has much authority to do this, but we'll see. If they were a Dillon rule state it would be a completely different story.

He isn't banning masks. He is banning a mask mandate. You can still wear a mask, but it will be up to the parents/students if they want to wear a mask or not. Easy, think your kid needs to wear a mask then he/she does, and if not you don't. It is called freedom.

He is not letting the filthy ass Democrats in the Communist areas like Miami (think New York South) take away the freedom of the parents to decide if their children should wear a mask or not.

It is called Liberty. Go look that word up.

Children are the least likely to be affected by the Joe Dufus Chicom Buddy's virus and it is not such a threat to them to cause massive disruptions in the classroom. Masks don't do a damn bit of good with a bunch of kids. Most of them take off their masks multiple times a day. Social distancing with kids is a joke.

Last year he made the decisions to open the schools and that was a great thing to do. Florida kids advanced with their education while the Communist state kids stayed at home. There was not much of a health threat to the kids. Very few were infected and when they were it was usually from other sources. My youngest granddaughter completed the Second grade and loved it and learned a lot of things thanks to the courage of Governor DeSantis.

DeSantis is not owned by the filthy ass Teacher's Unions like these Governors in the Communist states are so he looks after the interest of the people.

Do you ever stop to think the permanent psychological harm of kids being forced to wear masks all day for a year and a half?
