I don't know about being gone in four years, but the author makes some excellent points. The EU is starting to tick up military spending due to the impending Russian threat, which could potentially result in Europeans fighting in Ukraine while at the same time they allow "refugees" from Third World countries pouring into the EU and collecting welfare benefits off of the backs of those who would do the fighting. Along side that you have the government jacking up the cost of living in order to appease their dogmatic beliefs in climate change making it harder to live. More Europeans are taking notice and supporting right wing parties who would bring about substantial change, but in Germany, for example, those voices face suppression by a government attempting to make them illegal and ban them from holding office. How could anyone be patriotic in this environment? Eventually, the people will have had enough and will crack.

The EU is in really bad shape financially and its motors of the economy are under constant threat from China. The waste, fraud and abuse is getting worse, which is normal for left leaning governments. It may be time to cut the umbilical to the EU as it is about to become just another money pit where America will lose more trillions of USD. This is especially necessary if Europe thinks a war with Russia can solve their problems. It can't, and will only make matters so much worse. The American economy is also extremely fragile at the moment and the US population is strapped for cash as well and can't afford another money pit and forever war.
