The efficacy of repetition, and so much more.

If it is your daughter violently raped and murdered by a migrant who never should have been allowed to be here, I wonder how you would then see it.

Just in the migrant shelters alone--this in no way describes all the problem--in NYC:

Just by the fact they came in illegally make them commit a crime. Probably most do not commit additional crimes once they get here. But an unacceptable percentage of them do. The protection and safety of American citizens should be the first responsibility of government.
Did you know that MA is now spending over $50,000 per year to house each and every illegal? The cost is projected to be $1 billion this year.

I think we'd all like to know why Democrats are not spending $50,000 a year on our own poor people?

In related news, has anyone calculated the total number of Trump hate threads Berg has started since last November? :auiqs.jpg:

Biden's administration was fast tracking them to be able to vote. fact
As of now, an illegal cannot vote in a federal election, but able to vote
in local elections in certain states with a valid drivers license.

Baby steps Konradv, baby steps.
There are posters on this very site that believe because they pay taxes,
they should also be able to vote.
Migrants didn’t vote. Quit moving the goalposts.

What difference does it make if they are here illegally? If they are here illegally then they shouldn't be hear at all.
Yet they are. Some for decades. They work, they pay taxes, they send their kids to school. What makes you want them to be deported?

Dozens of heavily armed ICE agents swarm popular L.A. County swap meet

With a Department of Homeland Security helicopter circling, several dozen heavily armed, masked ICE agents dressed in military tactical gear raided one of the most popular swap meets in Southern California, which caters to a predominantly Latino crowd, over the weekend.

The incident, as captured in a video of the event by photojournalists with OnScene.TV, unfolded Saturday at around 3:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet at 13963 Alondra Blvd.

KTLA’s Carlos Saucedo reports that the sight of ICE agents sent many vendors and customers running in an attempt to escape the raid.

Hatred. Bigotry… and they have been told to want that

Hey asshole… she was here LEGALLY.

How stupid are you…
The conversation you butted into was more generally speaking, not about just one person.
Yet they are. Some for decades. They work, they pay taxes, they send their kids to school. What makes you want them to be deported?
If they come here illegally then they go. Keeping them here only encourages more to come illegally.

Whenever I see "fact-checking", I settle in for a heapin' helping of spin and assertions of opinion as fact. And sure enough, the article in the OP did not disappoint. I found this in the first 30 seconds of reading:

First of all, Kubrin conflates legal and illegal immigration. As usual.

Secondly, asserting these policies do not help increase public safety is just that - an assertion, not a fact. A significant percentage of people in prisons are immigrants legal and illegal and deporting them would absolutely reduce "immigrant criminality".

Third, the next unproven assertion that immigrant criminality was not a problem to begin with. Really? What if you are a victim of it? I bet you would think it's a big problem. Is Kubrin saying there's not a lot of immigrant crime? What would he say is the "acceptable level" of immigrant crime?

Fourth, is the again unproven assertion that focusing on illegal immigrants take the focus away from other public safety concerns. It does not. There are entirely separate groups of LEOs that deal with each. ICE deals with deportations, the police with local crimes. If local police want to help enforce immigration law, the Feds would compensate them for the time and manpower.

But the kicker is adding "mass shootings" to the list of other safety concerns. Statistically, you're about as likely to die in a mass shooting as you are being struck by lightning. So why isn't this a "not a problem to begin with"?

This is not wash, rinse, spin, repeat. This is just spin, repeat, spin, repeat.
But you see, your post is a brilliant example of critical thinking and intellectually honest debate. Your observations could possibly receive honorable rebuttal from somebody utilizing critical thinking and intellectually honest debate, but I don't think you will see that happen here at USMB (or anywhere else for that matter) because such happens so rarely among the left these days.

Oh my I miss William Raspberry, Molly Ivans, Michael Kinsley and a few others from the old honorable Democrat Party who could really make me stop and think with serious critical thinking, serious intellectual honesty, etc. They would really keep me on my toes to support my position on something and sometimes I found I was unable to do so.

Modern day leftists demonstrate little of that kind of integrity or competence of thought. They ignore any fact that doesn't fit whatever they want to be 'truth' and/or manipulate, misrepresent information to support their thesis. Such as refusing to distinguish between legal immigrants that utilize normal procedures to be immigrants vs the migrant invasion.

And their media is mostly guilty of journalistic malpractice.
