The amazing thing is, someone probably thought this through and said "Do nothing!" and it might be actually working.
When a new administration spends so much time digging a hole and doing, and saying, things as unpopular as the Trump/Musk administration is doing, whether it is the wanton removal of the federal workforce without cause or careful consideration, whether it is the unhinged comments about buying Greenland, making Canada a state, renaming the Gulf of Mexico, or the absolute lowpoint so far, the very public ranting against Zelensky in the White House, all of which seemed to contain some hidden message to Vladmir Putin more than anything else, it is waking up even the most clueless Americans for a change.
Democrats seem content to just let these people keep digging, and I fully understand the utility of this approach from a long game, next-election viewpoint, but ultimately these lame ducks are going to have to do something before America bleeds out.
