Fordham University senior Austin Tong, who immigrated from China as a child, is in hot water with the university for some Instagram posts of his. What did he post? One was a picture of former police captain David Dorn, who was murdered in the riots trying to protect his pawn shop. Tongs caption read “y’all are hypocrites”. The other was a picture of him holding a gun with the caption “don’t tread on me” with a hashtag reference to the 31st anniversary of Tiananmen Square, where his country of origin slaughtered hundreds of unarmed peaceful protesters. Well, Fordham university sent Tong a letter informing him that he violated their code of conduct because he A. violated university regulations related to bias and/or hate crimes. B. For threats/intimidation. As for his punishment, he has been placed on academic probation, his access restricted to Fordham campus, is required to attend re-education sessions, and is forced to write an apology letter.

Are you fucking kidding me. Imagine that your family escapes communist China, with all their struggle sessions, censorship, and all the other joys that every venture into socialism in every country seems to bring. You get to America, land of freedom, opportunity, and and “free speech.”Well your son gets in trouble at school for speaking out against China (the terrible authoritarian state you escaped from) and posting a picture of a legally obtained firearm, a constitutionally protected right laid out in the Bill of Rights...as well as being told he committed a hate crime for posting a picture of a black man who was shot in the head by BLM rioters. On top of that, your son has to go for re-education, a practice used in China, and is forced to write an apology letter...because he spoke his mind on Instagram.

Folks, this is the left that has taken over the Democratic Party. They have been slowly taking over our universities since the 80s. Their authoritarian beliefs have been seeping into the HR and administrative positions in the private sector from their pupils at university for the past decade. They have thoroughly infiltrated our public education sector. They have been waging an underground cultural war for the past 40 years that is being ramped up now. This is coming everywhere. I know it sounds like hyperbole, but look at the hundreds of businesses that have caved to this BS out of fear of the mob. Soon business will be combing through their employees social media, calling them in for re-education sessions and apology letters. This is coming, be prepared.

Actually, it started in the 70's when the "flower children" realized that they could stay in school and get advanced degrees on mom and dad's or the government's dime and then secure jobs in academia that require little actual labor, pay very well, and once tenure is achieved, allow them to pass on their Marxist leanings to whole generations of "heads full of mush."

Two notes of correction, Dorn was trying to protect a friends pawn shop, not his, and the colleges and universities were taken over by communist sympathizers in the late 50s and early 60s, not the 80s.

This is true. Now they have control of essentially every major institution, outside of maybe the senate and WH, yet they claim they are oppressed by the institutions they control. They have universities, public school, Hollywood, media, the leviathans that have become arguably more powerful than government in big tech, music industry, industry in general, major cities, NGOs, etc. Its not looking good fellas.

I said 80s because that’s when they established a strong foothold where they could spout their propaganda and have it not be challenged by colleagues. They were certainly there in strong numbers in the 50s, 60s, 70s, but they had to deal with pushback from professors firmly grounded in reality. What’s the stat these days, only 5% of people employed by universities consider themselves right leaning. It’s absurd.

I tend to agree, but there were many marxist tenured profs in the 60s and it was starting to work it's way into HSs by the late 60s and early 70s, I was there and saw it first hand.
