The protests began when the government halted talks about joining the European Union. That move came after the longtime ruling party Georgian Dream won an election that the opposition alleged was rigged.

But Georgia’s vibrant civil society is pushing back, and it has become a question of “who would blink first,” Gogia said. If it’s the public and civil society, they could wake up in an authoritarian country, “which would be a huge transformation from what Georgia used to be up until now,” he added.

Like looking in a mirror, huh? They are using the trump plan, after he used the Putin plan. Putin is behind all this. He and his minions are calling into question the legitimacy of elections (sound familiar) and cracking down on protest (wow, heard that one before) and threatening the media ( the tried and true authoritarian playbook.}

As I was reading this, I thought, "Wow, the attacks on activist, protesters, and media. Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, in the Good Old US of A. That bastion of democracy that is slipping swiftly into the never to return land of Authoritarianism. I expect MAGA is thrilled to death that Russia will be strengthened soon with the addition of Georgia to it's fold.

aren't you glad Trump got NATO to more than double military spending ?

In Georgia, the Moscow 🇷🇺 empire has just outstretched itself even further. How long can Moscow—with its 1% share of the world’s GDP—continue playing imperialistic games from eastern Prussia to the four “Kuril” (🇯🇵Japanese) islands?

The only people who should be happy are the Military industrial complex and their pyramid selling scam, not the tax payers.
There is an election in the Czech Republic today by all accounts the pro Nato and pro Ukraine and weapons dealer candidate is on the back foot, so we could see another rigged election to make sure the EU elites get the result they want.

Another CIA coup
The Empire has to keep going back to put the peasants back in their place if they look like taking a more independent position,i remember when that asshole Saackashvili stormed Parliament with his gang of thugs and took over, later he started a war against the people of South Ossetia in 2008 launching a Blitzkrieg at midnight when people were sleeping killing civilians and Russian peacekeepers, so Russia went in and taught him a lesson, but they didn't finish it they should have sent him to Russia in a cage, then he went on to be one of the most corrupt bastards in the Country beating and torturing his own people then running away to Ukraine to avoid justice, i believe at one time that other corrupt gangster Zelensky gave him a government job

The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs fined OSCE Chair Elina Valtonen 5,000 lari for attending a protest outside the parliament building in Tbilisi.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry also sent a statement to the OSCE Secretariat. And why? Because clever Aunt Nuland brought magic cookies to Maidan in Kiev, while stupid Aunt Valtonen brought only her sour face...

Numerous arrests of high-ranking officials are taking place in Georgia. Mostly on suspicion of corruption and money laundering. The opposition is in a panic. Westerners are hysterical.

Damn, if only Georgia was laundering money for the DemoKKKrats like Ukraine was, they would get a whole lot more help.

Georgians condemn fascism in Ukraine on Chinese forum.

T. Pipia: The Kiev regime has become a dangerous hotbed of aggression, Nazism, and Russophobia in the post-Soviet space.
We must fight against the Ukrainian Nazi regime, which is acting in the interests of Brussels and Washington!
