The Containment Of America

The great President FDR made a pact with the Soviets to fight and die defeating the Nazis
Once the Soviets weakened the Nazi Army, we stepped in to rescue Western Europe.

Scumbag FDR made all sorts of pacts with his dear friend and ideological twin, Joseph Stalin, particularly on how to split Europe between the two dicatators.

Providence intervened and America's copy of Stalin died.

1. During the Roosevelt regime, the era when the US President encouraged Soviet communist infiltration of society and government, the phrase 'Liberals in a hurry' was the way folks referred to communists.

a. The major player in the Alger Hiss saga was fellow Communist, Whitaker Chambers. In his book, Witness, Chambers explains is disillusionment as follows. In 1938, he determined not only to break with the Communist Party, but to inform on the Party when he could. The reason was that he was informed that Stalin was making efforts to align with Hitler, in 1939, and “from any human point of view, the pact was evil.” As Hitler marched into Poland, Chambers arranged a private meeting with Adolf Berle, President Roosevelt’s assistant Sec’y of State. Chambers detailed the Communist espionage network, naming at least two dozen Soviet spies in Roosevelt’s administration, including Alger Hiss. Berle reported this to Roosevelt, who laughed, and told Berle to go f--- himself. Arthur Herman, "Joseph McCarthy: Reexaming the Life and Legacy of America’s Most Hated Senator," p. 60

No action was taken, and in fact, Roosevelt promoted Hiss.
Almost a decade later, Chambers was called before the HUAC and named Hiss as a Soviet agent. Hiss sued Chambers, at which time Chambers presented “… four notes in Alger Hiss's handwriting, sixty-five typewritten copies of State Department documents and five strips of microfilm, some of which contained photographs of State Department documents. The press came to call these the "Pumpkin Papers"
(Whittaker Chambers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
And, of course, all doubt was removed in 1995, when the Venona Soviet cables were decrypted.

"Providence intervened and America's copy of Stalin died."

Had he died prior to Truman being his VP, American would have had Wallace, Stalin's own, as President.

Yup.....Providence.

Here is the deal....

The Soviets do all the fighting and dying as we watch and wait for a safe time to enter the war. After the Soviets had decimated the bulk of the Nazi Army, we stepped in and opened a second front.

The Soviets had 20 million deaths, the allies had 200,000.
For that, the allies got France, Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Italy and West Germany.
The Soviets got back their old territory and Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Romania, Yugoslavia and East Germany.

I’ll take that deal any day

There is an old saying, "Man plans, and God laughs."
Those of us who have studied history recognize the truth of the adage, but in this post the sad, dark, humor of the saying will become evident.

1. General Patton wanted the defeated German Army to be put in the service of the Allies, to confront the growing and intended world domination by Stalin's Bolsheviks.
Patton saw the inevitability of a conflict with the Russians.

"It is a conflict that Patton believes will be fought soon. The Russians are moving to forcibly spread communism throughout the world, and Patton knows it. "They are a scurvy race and simply savages," he writes of the Russians in his journal. "We could beat the hell out of them."
"Patton," By Martin Blumenson, Kevin M. Hymel, p. 84

Can you imagine the chagrin in the Soviet-occupied Roosevelt administration???

2. America was not ready to continue the war, and Roosevelt certainly wouldn't allow any confrontation against his BFF, 'Uncle Joe' Stalin. This is where we bring in the subject of this post.....the birthday boy:

George F. Kennan, in full George Frost Kennan, (born February 16, 1904, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.—died March 17, 2005, Princeton, New Jersey), American diplomat and historian best known for his successful advocacy of a “containment policy” to oppose Soviet expansionism following World War II.

3. His plan was to surround and suppress the hungry bear, the Soviet Union. "Kennan then advocated U.S. counterpressure wherever the Soviets threatened to expand and predicted that such counterpressure would lead either to Soviet willingness to cooperate with the United States or perhaps eventually to an internal collapse of the Soviet government. This view subsequently became the core of U.S. policy toward the Soviet Union. " Ibid.

4. He knew that Stalin, far smarter than FDR, controlled American foreign policy, and the best America could hope for-as long as Roosevelt was in charge, was to hold the blood-thirsty savages back.
Kennan knew what a second-rate leader Roosevelt was:

"George Kennan’s view of Roosevelt’s performance during the war is considerably harsher than Harriman’s. After commenting bitterly on the “inexcusable body of ignorance about the Russian Communist movement, about the history of its diplomacy, about what had happened in the purges, and about what had been going on in Poland and the Baltic States,” Kennan turns more directly to FDR alone:

'I also have in mind FDRs evident conviction that Stalin, while perhaps a somewhat difficult customer, was only, after all, a person like any other person; that the reason we hadn’t been able to get along with him in the past was that we had never really had anyone with the proper personality and theproper qualities of sympathy and imagination to deal with him, that he had been snubbed all along by the arrogant conservatives of the Western capitals; and that if only he could be exposed to the persuasive charms of someone like FDR himself, ideological preconceptions would melt and Russia’s cooperation with the West could be easily arranged.

For these assumptions there were no grounds whatsover; and they were of a puerility that was unworthy of a statesman of FDRs stature."

For Democrats reading along, puerile means childish, foolish......stupid. FDR.

5. Sadly, containment of Russia didn't work, due to Roosevelt's efforts. He made certain that Russia survived the war, and that communism had a comfy home in America. It is the reason that neo-Marxism prevails today.

So, who and what has been 'contained'? This:
individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government.
“free markets, free voices, free people”
Instead, neo-Fascism has won the day.

It is America and American values that have been contained.
We can at least excuse Patton for not being a firm believer in free market Capitalism.

Right wingers have no excuse for not engaging communists with free market Capitalism at every opportunity.

The Soviets fought stupidly with what military remained after Stalin's purges.

They did.....but they won
US fighting the Red Army would have seen significant casualties. Casualties the home front would not have tolerated.

They "won" because America bailed them out. Without American steel and machine tools, zero T34's would be made.

Stalin's meat grinder could defend St. Petersburg, but could never invade Berlin.

Whatever American perspective of the 20th century, boils down to the media's viewpoint of history rather than history itself. Patton was arguably the greatest general of the WW2 conflict but MacArthur, who abandoned his Troops (under orders), became the star of the conflict. The truth is out there in the greatest Country in the world but sometimes you have to hunt for it.

Only foreign enemy agents would continuously degrade great Americans who sacrificed their life to serve their nation. Under FDR was created the Congressional committee on un-American activities.

From which sprang "social media" with censorship and cancelling people they don't like.

Figures you'd like that.
