I know what you mean by extreme. When things have been done wrong for so long, suddenly doing things right seems extreme. I see that in my job. Our fire department gave us notice that tenants may not leave their shoes in the hall outside their doors as it is a "tripping hazard" in case of a fire. I have had to remind several of this as they continue to leave their shoes in the hall. Old bad habits are hard to break.
