And while this idiot and his lawyers were out trying to set economic policy with no authority, they couldn't even get that right, while some of his officials were receiving illegal payouts for services that had nothing to do with helping their people. This is a long read, but well worth the effort, if you care about corruption and the truth. And also, how the US is propping up this criminal conspiracy at the expense of the Venezuelan people, while conducting this heist of ours and their fake president, by extracting the gold, diamonds, and oil out of their country. All they needed was a criminal thug like Guaido, his lawyers, Exxon mobil, and other US companies to carry out the scheme. And what do their people get for this heist? Nothing!

Just so you know, you can't choose the country from where you buy oil. It's all intermingled in pipelines, tanks, and other storage. Same thing with unleaded gas. When the truck that supplies your gas station fills up, it's from the same nozzle that the truck for the competitive station down the road fills up. Unleaded gasoline is a commodity - it's all the same. After the truck is loaded, the additives are added, in very, very, small amounts, that makes the gasoline "branded". But you have no idea or control over where the oil or the gas came. The refineries have no idea from where the oil they refine came.

A refinery in Georgia buys 100,000 barrels of oil from a producer in North Dakota. The producer has already put their oil into the pipeline but now the pipeline operator writes off 100000 barrels against that producer. The refinery accepts 100000 barrels. They didn't empty the pipeline so the oil from North Dakota went to Georgia and then put the oil from Mexico or Venezuela back into the pipeline.

There are still a lot of Citgo stations in Houston. I know people who work for Citgo in Houston and they're great people. American people in American jobs. Citgo stations are often franchises. American companies with American employees. You're not hurting the Venezuelan government if you don't buy Citgo but you do hurt a lot of Americans.
