Zone1 The church is supposed to direct the government

When Rep. Boebert uses the word "church" what does she actually mean by that? We have a separation of church and state, so when she says the church should DIRECT the government, I have to step back and wonder what she means by the word, "DIRECT". I think as leaders in our government, we can and should use our principals of truthfulness, honesty, love of our fellow man, etc to help direct our decision making but a church should not lead and direct such as is suggested in the "Pope Francis Announces That God Agrees With Whatever It Is Democrats Want To Do Right Now" thread.

Sure, Mexico, Columbia, France, Poland, Congo, Argentina... All Catholic nations.

Didn't think that shit through before you posted it, did you.
None of those you listed has an officially Catholic government.

Those which do are Costa Rica, El Salvador, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, and Vatican City.

Those countries are doing very well. El Salvador is right in the middle in terms of Central American Countries' GDP

Now compare them with the five officially atheist piss holes. Cuba, China, North Korea, Vietnam, Laos. Which of these sewers do you want to move to?

None of those are either, except the vatican city which is only a country out of fear.

They do list catholicism as the official religion, but take costa rica for instance.

47% catholic and a section of the constitution guaranteeing freedom of religion.

Most of the white Christian nations are doing just fine.

Real powerhouse nations with such clout on the world stage. Becoming a theocracy will undoubtedly diminish the power of the US.

Religion (any church) is not supposed to direct (issue orders) to gov't or anything else. It teaches but has no direct authority; they can ask but they cannot demand, or at least should not.
James Madison made a point that any believer of any religion should understand: "that the government sanction of a religion was, in essence, a threat to religion. “Who does not see,” he wrote, “that the same authority which can establish Christianity, in exclusion of all other Religions, may establish with the same ease any particular sect of Christians, in exclusion of all other Sects?”

You got that right, Lauren. Thankfully our country is now moving in the right direction. All the puzzle pieces are now in place.

---GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert recently said "the church is supposed to direct the government."---

The Church of Jesus, which is his body of faithful followers on Earth, should indeed guide ALL people. Although she may have been referring to a man-made church.
