Not that it matters to anyone but I have never subscribed to the "woke" things Maher spoke about as being positions or attitudes taken by the left. I've been polite to my friend Pam who has a granddaughter who became her "grandson" a couple of years ago. She's a large person with breasts and a beard pretending to be a guy and while I sympathize with her internal struggle for an identity she is comfortable with no amount of hormone induced facial hair makes her a man.

I don't personally know anyone among the Dem's in my social circle who thinks otherwise. Though many won't admit it to Pam. As for the rest of the Dem party I do not know where they stand on the issues Maher raised. But I suspect many more align themselves with Maher than is the conventional belief. Especially those of my generation.

So what caveat am I talking about? It's this.

CNN Poll: Percentage of Republicans who think Biden’s 2020 win was illegitimate ticks back up near 70%

I find mass delusion to be the best way to describe the belief, for which there still isn't any credible evidence, that trump won in 2020. Maybe you folks can correct me, but I can't think of anything on the woke menu that's been almost universally adopted on the Dem side comparable to the "Big Lie."
Am I missing something?

The Dems have certainly had their share of line-crossing (and I squabbled with them here plenty before the buffoon showed up), but this is unique in American history. There has been nothing like this.

This is a literal group pathology. It's certainly new here, but if the size of it is shocking, the world has seen it before.

I suspect you and I, being of a similar age, would agree about many things the Left has gone out of bounds on. Many, but not all. I just can't find any equivalence to belief in the Big Lie.

I have been warning for years the dangers of the Dumbing Down of America, all it takes is a concerted effort to push some bullshit on the mouth breathers and droolers who idolize Trump, and one of the most destructive lies is shredding the credibility and trust in our elections.

Yeah, there's been nothing like this from the Left. Any group pathology has to be based on a Big Lie.
If "woke" politics had not become cleverly, but disingenuously, identified as generically Dem politics by the RWM the R's would not have kept the majority in the House last year and the political landscape would look very different indeed.

It's part of a larger goal to sow doubt, discontent, and a feeling of uncertainty among the public. What do people do when they perceive the social and institutional order is breaking down?

They look to a strongman to stabilize society.

......But what about the old rule?

"BergIQ80 MUST post the material he receives from DNC headquarters on a daily basis.

In all honesty, boiling down Maher's comments in that segment to focus on the 2020 election, which is now in the past, (and TBH, I don't know many on the right, who still care about the 2020 election) is disingenuous to the entire monologue.

Maher points out absolute ideas on BOTH the left and right side, and is correct in his observations of both parties.

The fact that CNN is trying to again bring up the 2020 election is another attempt at distractioning the public to what is really happening.

so where is your strongman to counter this guy?....

There was some weird shit going on in 2020. States were ILLEGALLY changing their laws.
Massive amounts of ballots showing in the middle of the night. The secrecy. And then in 2024, 15% of those voters disappeared? They proved in court, live, that those machines were easily hackable.
I like to think their wasnt a big conspiracy going on with the left, but I can see where the doubting comes from.
As far as Maher goes, He is way too statist for me, but he isnt a moonbat like most democrats. He wasnt completely broken by the fat man like so many were, either.

The CNN article is from 2023.

As for Maher, I'm not following where he's asking MAGA to break with TRUMP on just 1 thing. There's been plenty of examples of MAGA breaking with TRUMP, COVID probably the biggest one.

What Maher doesn't get is the difference in republican disagreements with each other don't involve violence or threats of violence.

Maher talking out 1 side of his mouths denounces democrats over letting illegals flood the country. While on the other side demonizes policies following the laws on deportations.
