I am not to blame. Those of my stature and pursuits were the answer, not the problem. The unaccountable Creepy Ones decided that they liked the old dying East Germany system fit for our constitutional monarchy, light on constitution, heavy on monarchy.

The truth is though that they are blaming Trumps tariffs but that is only a small part of the story. The abuses, forced caste system and nepotism was bound to fail once Americans found out the truth.

Some of us are just victims of the Creepy Ones crimes...

How tariffs have killed Canadian GDP growth

The Canadian economy is beginning to show signs that it is in serious trouble and tariffs are to blame. A new report from Statistics Canada hinted at how Donald Trump has hurt Canada since he returned to the Oval Office in January 2025.

On January 30th, Statistics Canada released its report on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by industry for November and revealed that real GDP growth for the month was unchanged after a 0.3% decline in the previous month.

It's starting to change the way I buy. I bought a pair of boots -- didn't even notice they were made in Canada -- so I ended up paying a tariff. It was worth it because they're a unique style, made for safety in winter weather. I wanted them for their safety feature, and would have bought them anyway.

But I will now be more careful about looking at where my purchases are coming from.

No big deal, just fire the head of government statistics and replace with a pro-government yes man, problem solved.

I like the way you said, "So I ended up paying the tariff" because that's how it works. The tariff is charged when it is delivered to the United States and paid for by the importer who passes it on to the American People. Do you have the name of those boots? I want to see if I can find them here and how much they cost? A picture might work. How much did you pay?

I don't recall the name. If I find it, I'll let you know.

The link shows the red flip over piece on one of the boots

There are probably a lot of knock-offs already. For that matter, I have no idea who the original design comes from.

They're in my car for the whole winter. I never know when I'm going to end up having to walk on an icy sidewalk or road.

may i ask where you live? I'll be walking on snow and ice for about six more weeks and it has nothing to do with seeing my shadow in Saskatchewan.

Midwest United States. My purchase of these boots was inspired by one morning parking my car across the street from church and opening my door and realizing the entire street was a sheet of ice. We do get bitter winter weather here.
