Obama felt the urgency to step beyond democratic means to stop Trump. This is the reason why democracy needs to be set aside when fascism is about to engage in a war. The enemy will need to unite under a socialist/communist leader.

Obama hasn't been shy in making moves with Russia/Putin to do just that.
