The English long bowmen won the day against the French Knights on the day, many of the Bowmen were in fact Welsh, the English army were led by the Black Prince Edward who was just sixteen, he proved to be a great tactition.

The draw weight of the English longbow typically ranges from 80 to 180 pounds, with historical examples often exceeding 100 pounds, making it a powerful weapon in medieval warfare.

LOL....I don't suspect they held it very long before they let fly.

Yes they must have been very strong men they used bodkin arrow heads at Crecy.

what were his tactics?
Well several thousand Long bowmen and there were 7 to 8 thousand at Crecy each archer could fire between 10 and 12 arrows per minutes, and they used bodkin arrow heads which could penetrate chain mail of the French knights and even weak spots of hard armour, the French also had some German mercenaries and Genoese cross bowmen, but the long bow had a much longer range and the Crossbow was harder to load and took longer, it had also been raining heavy on the day of the battle so once the French Knights were dismounted they could not really move in the mud and were butchered by sword and axe.
