This video on the 11th amendment popped up on my YouTube recommended list and not knowing a darn thing what in the heck it dealt with, I gave it a shot. Found it interesting, in particular how in 1890 its interpretation expanded.

The supreme court ruled .... (I don't know how given the wording of the 11th Amend).... that even residents of a State cannot sue the State......!!! ???
I understand how the amendment protects the States, but the protection has gone too far when a citizen of the State cannot sue.Indeed, even back in 1890 the court was taking upon itself the role to legislate. I wonder how further back that practice goes.
