Thank You, Vanderbilt Football 2025

It wasnt a blow out the score was tied at the half......

:auiqs.jpg:

45-24 at home for a SEC upper tier team is not a blowout loss? Outscored 24-3 in 2nd half?

41-0 KY loss to rival LOU is not getting blown out?

How did Vandy do vs spead this year?

One Site says 9-2-1. I picked my own spread TENN at home to cover 17.5. I dont know official spread going in.

I mistakenly ASSumed TENN had a small amount of shame in them.

KY was another story. WTH?

That's crap. The game was tied at halftime.

None of those would "run" Vandy right now. Vandy would beat half of them.
We have seen what happens when Vandy plays teams currently ranked in the top 20. They lose. Their signature wins are against 4 loss teams. Missouri and Tennessee. IMO those teams are/were wildly overrated based on "they are in the SEC" logic. Why would anyone believe they are going to beat 5-6 teams currently in the top 10? I mean any given Saturday but put Vandy and anyone on the list I gave and Vandy is a dog every one of those games.

Root for Alabama to lose in the SEC champ game. Its the only way Vandy makes the PO. Even then I doubt they let them in they would have to exclude Miami and ND to do it and that likely isnt happening.

South Carolina was 10 when Vandy stomped them.

This is not the place to lie about Muderous FRAUD Vax.

Vanderbilt used to have a great science program. Now it is bullshit "the science" and accepts CO2 FRAUD and Covid FRAUD.

Sorry assed woke bigoted PC treasonous "leadership."
isolating viruses is the work they did. They are involved in thousands of research projects including performing and reporting lab work. They did not have any involvement in the creation of mRNA vaccines. They did have a former researcher at Moderna that was instrumental at testing efficacy.

Cool story. What does that have to do with them being an ivy league school?

There are 8 Ivy League schools and Vandy isn't one of them. It's a great school with really high academic achievements, that doesn't make it an Ivy.
The Vanderbilt family said it was....nevermind the fact that they died penniless....they gave an endowment that created the institution if I'm remembering correctly.

None of that has anything to do with it being an Ivy League school.

Ummmm....when has a little thing like facts ever mattered to the Press?

Today it's considered an Ivy league University like Harvard, Yale, Brown, MIT, Duke and others....completely on par with those places. Depends upon when the ivy started growing on the walls I guess....except in the South it's going to be Kudzu.

But places like Harvard are considered all ego without much substance when it comes to medical science (although they do get some NIH grants) and does Harvard even have a football team?

Neither MIT nor Duke are ivy league schools either. It has nothing to do with Ivy growing on the walls. It's clear you dont actually know what the term "ivy league school" means.

You are all over the place. I dont know what the first part of that sentence has to do with Vanderbilt and whether it's an Ivy League school or not. And yes Harvard has a football team.

Not officially but it is considered by many to be in that category.

Spurrier was one who said that

"an Ivy League school should not be in the SEC"

when asked about Vandy football...

LOL!!!

If BYU loses to T Tech, then Vandy has to be in for sure.

The only chance is that plus Duke beating UVA and the CFP dumping Duke and just inviting the U from the ACC.

The greatest Vandy team ever

SEC 6-2. prior best 4-4

First ever 10 win season

While Vandy will almost assuredly get screwed out of the CFP by BS, the team deserves the recognition and celebration. And none of the CFP teams want to play Vandy right now, NONE...

Everyone, all players, coaches and others, THANK YOU.
they should be in the playoffs .. especially after they soundly beat the Vols in Knoxville ..

Make the case for them then.

There are 5 auto bids.

SEC, ACC, Big 10 and Big 12 Champ and highest ranking group of 5 champ. Vandy wont be any of those. Agreed?

That leaves 7 at large bids.

Loser of the Big 10 champ game is in. Leaves 6

TAM and Ole Miss are in. Leaves 4

Oregon is in. Leaves 3

ND is in (they dont deserve it but they will make it) leaves 2.

If Alabama wins UGA is in. If they lose they are out and UGA goes as the SEC champ So maybe 1?

But lets go with best case scenario for Vandy leaving 2 spots open.

They are competing with

Loser of the Big 12 if TTU loses
Miami
OU
and probably Texas

Vandy has 1 win against a top 25 team. Missouri who's at 25. Losses to Alabama and Texas

Miami has 1 as well over ND who is likely in the PO. They have 2 bad loses though SMU and Louisville

OU has 2 Alabama and Missouri Losses to Ole Miss and Texas.

TTU Wins over BYU who would be in the CFP and losses to BYU and Az St.

Texas has 3 wins over currently ranked teams OU, TAM and Vandy. The terrible loss to UF will likely keep them out.

Vandy's problem is it doesn't have a signature win and when given the opportunity to compete with highly ranked teams they lost, once badly. They don't have a the "bad loss" but I think the lack of the "great win" will hurt them.

If I had to guess, Miami and OU get the nod unless Alabama wins the SEC then Miami gets left out.

They lost at Bama and at Texas, two notoriously tough places to win games.

But you are right, it looks very bleak for Vandy to get to CFP.

They needed LSU not to blow the coverage with 5 minutes left... or Auburn to score at the very end.
