As for China and their development. It wasn't communism that did it.
It was capitalism.
The first was to open China up to the US. That was established by richard nixon in the 1970s.
Then the people of China demanded democracy,.
The people protested in Tiananmen Square in 1989. Some lost their lives. While the communist government did squash that protest they were smart and made changes,. They allow some forms of capitalism in China.
Then the bush boy came along, Japan was being abandoned for cheap labor and manufacturing went to China in the bush boy years.
If the communists had not allowed a form of capitalism in China, China wouldn't be a super power now.
China was one of if not the most poor, and backwards nation on the planet before communism. Not true anymore.The USSR liberated Auschwitz. The USSR killed the most Nazis in WWII.
America liberated concentration camps too. The USSR didn't do any of that alone. In fact, they were begging FDR to start that second front which he did on D day. The USSR wasn't involved with that new front and invasion. That was the US and Britain. D day and that whole invasion was the beginning of the end of WW II in Europe.
Communism killed millions in China before our manufacturing went to China.
The only reason why China is a super power is because of the greed of American business people that capitalism allows. The greed of American business people sent jobs to Japan in the 80s through the 90s. The Japanese was able to rebuild their nation after the war because we sent our manufacturing there in the 80s. Then Japan became too expensive for greedy American business people so they started to move their manufacturing to China in the bush boy years.
Meanwhile China had to change because the people rose up and demanded it. They compromised with the people to keep a form of communism in that nation but allow some capitalism.
If it was communism that did it, American manufacturing wouldn't have gone to Japan in the 80s. It would have gone directly to China. But communism doesn't allow private ownership.
The demonstrations of the Chinese in the late 80s forced communists in China start to allow some private ownership but all business has to answer to the government and pay a lot of money to the government to exist. Some business in China is a combination of public and private ownership too.
If communism had continued in China without any changes, American business wouldn't have been able to move their because the government didn't allow private ownership and China wouldn't have become as developed as it is with so much financial power it has now.
It was capitalism. Not communism that created the China of today.
