Has this story been verified yet? Also; what exactly was going on? Is it rational to assume that if one teacher somewhere did something really stupid and vile (if indeed that is what happened) that this is a national phenomenon? That teachers are spending all their time taking little kids to drag shows with sex offenders? Is it really?

Or is this just another scare story based on one teacher allegedly doing something vile?

I remember the "Satanic Panic" of the 80's and how people actually believed that schools had secret satanist dungeons where the teachers took the kids to sacrifice babies. This kind of feels like a redux of the 80's moral panics. Whether it's a satanic panic or a fear over rock-and-roll backmasking or the horrors of D&D turning kids into vegetables or dead in a sewer.
