Texas Grid Asks Residents To Conserve Power As Heatwave Hits

Texas insists on not being part of the national grid.

Fuck 'em, let 'em bake.
There is an east, west and Texas power grids, there is not one national power grid and they are operated by the companies that are part of the grids, the government has little to do with control nationally. Inside those grids are failures, such as California and the rolling brownouts and now the Texas power grid is strained because of a growing state try to keep up with infrastructure.

It's not even summer yet and the electric system in Texas is failing. Again.

If there are blackouts people can die from the heat. Especially in August.

This doesn't look good for the rest of the summer if Texas already doesn't have enough energy for their people.

They ask people in every state to conserve energy during peak hours when there's a heat wave.

That means turn off all unnecessary lights and office equipment, grill your food outdoors, put off doing your laundry, dishes, vacuuming, woodworking, welding or showering until the late evening or early morning, raise your thermostat a couple of degrees, etc.

after all. We have become such pussies that what was common 100 years ago is now a death sentence for everyone!
Yes it is

Obama/biden voters in the hood for instance are very attached to air conditioning

"The Electric Reliability Council of Texas has asked people to conserve energy throughout the week as the supply of electricity on the Texas grid runs the risk of falling short of demand. It is the second time the state’s grid operator has made such a request since devastating blackouts gripped Texas in February. The grid operator said Monday more than 12,000 megawatts of generation capacity is unavailable -- In the media call, [ERCOT] repeatedly said they did not have information “available” on which plants were offline and why.

ERCOT's latest request for conservation is bound to increased calls for an overhaul of how Texas runs its grid -- Gov. Greg Abbott said that “everything that needed to be done was done to fix the power grid in Texas.” But grid experts have warned that the risk of big blackouts remains unless the state does more to overhaul its deregulated energy market and provide more backup power in times of emergency."

In the short time Biden has been in office, his energy policies have been a disaster....It was just a month after he was in office that Texas' whole power grid collapsed -- in large part due to Biden's opposition to the Keystone pipeline I am sure...Now because of his failed policies; Texans are being asked to conserve energy like some fucking Commies?? Summers are brutal in Texas and there is no excuse for so much of our available power to be offline...Hopefully Abbott can get that voting restrictions bill passed so it can fix this problem.

Solution?

More natural gas power plants and nuclear.

But, the federal supremacists are blocking the road.

'Unplanned' outages hit Texas power plants in soaring temperatures

Officials with Texas' power grid operator pleaded with residents Monday to limit their electrical usage amid soaring temperatures and a series of mechanical problems at power plants.
The appeal, from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, comes four months after deadly blackouts during a winter storm left millions of people without power
Officials with the nonprofit group, which oversees 90 percent of Texas' energy production, asked residents to set their thermostats higher, turn off lights and avoid using larger appliances until Friday.
A senior official with ERCOT, Warren Lasher, said it wasn't clear why there were so many unplanned outages. But he said that the group is "deeply concerned" about the plants that are offline and that a thorough investigation is being conducted to better understand the problems.
More than 40 people died during the February storm, many of them from exposure to cold or carbon monoxide poisoning while they were trying to keep warm.

We''ll see just how long the governor and legislature can distract an angry public

What an assinine thing to say. You out do yourself with stupidity.

I'm very attached to air conditioning an I don't live in the hood. Everyone in the South is. Florida would be sparsely populated except for A/C.. Likewise AZ, NEV etc.

Shocking.. You'd think Texans were sharper than that.

Remember CA's blackouts? Utilities need strict regulation to provide safe and reliable power. Texas got the message loud and clear this past winter.

They’ll blame Biden and illegal aliens.

Yesterday Texans were told to raise their thermostat to 78 degrees.

Of course. Texas has a lot of money from oil revenue and brags about their prosperty, you'd think they would invest in the basics.
