How do you read that as a couple of months? I know that is what the graph illustrated, but my statement was conditional on it continuing to change.

Really? I have seen the figures concerning the TSI of a Maunder Minimum, and the forcing from the increase in the GHGs. Looks like it merely cools the warming a bit.

Abstract
We examine the climate response to solar irradiance changes between the late 17th-century Maunder Minimum and the late 18th century. Global average temperature changes are small (about 0.3° to 0.4°C) in both a climate model and empirical reconstructions. However, regional temperature changes are quite large. In the model, these occur primarily through a forced shift toward the low index state of the Arctic Oscillation/North Atlantic Oscillation as solar irradiance decreases. This leads to colder temperatures over the Northern Hemisphere continents, especially in winter (1° to 2°C), in agreement with historical records and proxy data for surface temperatures.

Global cooling of only 0.4 C, and we have already warmed over 1 C from the GHGs in the air. And our present temperatures are not reflective of the present amount of GHGs, but those of at least 30 years ago, due to the inertia in the system.

On the contrary, the record cold weather that we have experianced in the last three or four years was predicted by the climate scientists. In fact, they predicted two effects. That while we experianced record cold weather, the Arctic would experiance record warm weather.



That is from 2012. And what she predicted is exactly what we have seen this winter. Look at the Arctic Ice freezeup in the Arctic this winter. See all the times that the level of freezeup decreased, or even had minor melting? At those times, North America received an arctic blast in one region or another.

These are all odd events when considering the “consensus” forecasts made 15 years ago, which warned that snow and ice would become rare.

In fact many scientists warned that Mediterranean conditions would spread into northern Europe. Lately, however, just the opposite has happened: Arctic conditions have plunged down into the Mediterranean!

The article cites Yale scientist Wei Liu and a recent paper he published on the “overlooked possibility of a collapsed Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation“. Should the ocean heat conveyor collapse, then there would be “a prominent cooling over the northern North Atlantic and neighboring areas, sea ice increases over the Greenland-Iceland-Norwegian seas and to the south of Greenland.”​

Summary. The global temperature rose by 0.20C between the middle 1960's and 1980, yielding a warming of 0.4°C in the past century.
