Republicans pick the name over the ideas. My standard since I left the party in 1988 has been for them to provide me with ONE actual reason to vote for them, and I will. Yet election after election they can't. Well, Obama finally gave me one in 2012 by delivering on his threat to actually rule as a communist instead of just running as one. Still the Republicans in six straight elections have given me zero

I think people like Cruz must laugh their asses off that conservative audiences are so predictable not to mention easily pliable by offerings of rhetorical red meat while understanding that they can get away with it even though they never offer any real solutions to real problems in the real world.

It reminds me of all the stories I've read over the years about how some poor schmuck goes into a strip club, becomes enamored by some woman who tempts him on stage with seductive moves and alluring looks, and as a result, he ends up emptying his bank accounts and maxing out his credit cards, and he never even ends up getting laid in the process.
