What do you think about tattoos on ladies/women?

Personally, I dislike them and the utter dreadful ones are down the legs. The girlfriend has two on the tops of her arms, so they're covered when wearing a T-shirt. She utterly regrets having them.

I can understand if you have a tattoo and you belong to a lost tribe in the Amazon.

I literally do not care. At all. THIS is what people mean by "my body, my choice"

I prefer "pure skin" women but if a small tat of some kind is discovered during the "unwrapping" I guess it's OK.....Better than a pickle surprise. ;)

It's like these entertaining young and healthy women, not a tat to be seen.

I've never seen a tattoo where I think, "Wow, that looks great!"

It just makes you look trashy is all.

We are not talking about freedom of expression here. If anyone wants to decorate their own body with ink, piercings, or little mutilations, that is their right and any adult should be free to do so.

The fact is that a visible tattoo tells some message about the person so adorned. It might be intentional and it might be inadvertent, as the decorated person cannot control the reaction of others to the decoration.

It is a fact of human nature that homely women like to decorate themselves in ways that draw attention, and sometimes it seems that they don't care whether the attention is attraction or revulsion, as long as it gets attention. While it would be difficult to quantify, I would wager that the more attractive a contemporary young woman is, the less her visible skin will be adorned with tattoos. When you see a pretty young woman with a lot of tattoos, you can be fairly certain that she is seriously neurotic.

Just my observations and opinion, of course.

I look at it as a type of self-mutilation, along with piercings and sex changes.

For me, I see a bunch of tattoos and piercings or someone with a sex change, I automatically assume they probably have severe psychological problems and are extremely Left wing as a result.

I have to admit, I'm Ok with ear piercings that are modest, but outside of that I just think people have gone nuts.

For me, it depends on the where and what kind of mark it is.

God bless you always!!!

P.S. What I will never get is why people are willing to spend so much on such a thing when you know that there are more important things in life to have the money go towards no matter what gender you are.

It's not just the insane cost, it is the pain and risk of infection and risk of regret.

I just don't get it.

I married a girl with tats. She is not heavily tatted. She was in and out of foster homes, had an uncle that abused her, lived on the streets for awhile. We worked in the same bldg, different companies. I only saw her in the morning behind the picture window to her office. Never said a word 1 to her.
I get a call at midnite, its her asking me to come get her. Did I hesitate...not a bit. Life gets hard sometimes and I knew she would not fold under the pressure.

what's sad is seeing an attractive woman that's ruined her looks by having tattoos all over her arms legs ect ..

I had an MRI scan a few years ago and one question was, "Do you have any tattoos?". I don't but I asked why. They said if you have tattoos they have to be careful scanning and tweak settings because it warms the ink up in the tattoo that it causes severe burns.

American culture has changed on this. When I was a kid the stereotype was that the only men that had tattoos were in the military or had been to jail. If a woman had a tattoo all kinds of red flags went up. People didn't even know how to treat or think about a woman with tattoos. She was viewed as utter uncomprehendable trash. She was suspect as heck. Now I think tattoos are pretty well accepted by mainstream society. Maybe even more so on women then men. I think the cultural trend is good news for tattoo artists.

I have a tattoo. I have a funny story about class warfare over people with tattoos in the political realm but only if you guys are interested.

Tramp stamps are ugly but it's a free Country so you can pay someone to mutilate your body (within reason) if you want.

That stereotype has changed but that's how tattoo ladies were viewed when/where I grew up.
A study had photos of women, the same women with and without tattoos. The outcome was the photos with tattoos, the women were considered promiscuous.
